Organic Productíon
The control systems in different countries are often difficult to compare.
In Denmark organic production is exclusively supervised by independent public authorities:
- The Plant Directorate (Danish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries)
is responsible for the control of the primary production
- The Veterinary and Food Administration
covers the control of products for human consumption with reference to organic agriculture
The elements of the control of organic production are:
- Primary production (farms)
- Organic food products (abattoirs)
- Own control programme /HACCP (abattoirs)
- Certificate of organic origin (attending all organic products)
- Traceability
